Back to School

The First day of School is always an exciting time. All the kids were excited and a little nervous. Brogan is now in 1st grade, and has Mrs. Ferlic. He is adjusting to a full day of school, it is a little long for him and he is exhausted when he gets home. But he still comes home with a smile, which is a good thing.

Kaden came home and said that his day was AWESOME! So I'm assuming it went well. He has Mrs. Haskell as his teacher, and he gets to be in the new 3rd grade building. He is very excited that he gets his own locker this year.

Brock absolutely loved school. He loved everything about it. On Sunday, he cried because he couldn't go to school. He thinks he is all growed up, How sad. I had withdrawals the 1st day, I really missed him. I got over it pretty quick. I love that he enjoys school, but I also love when he comes home and we get some one on one time.
If you're wondering were Kyli is, she erased her picture. I have to get another one of her, then I will post it. She is loving Junior High. She gets her own locker, and loves her teachers. I'm proud of her for being so brave. She started Cross country, even though her friends didn't want to do it, she did it herself. And she is really enjoying running each day. She is up to 2 and 3/4 mile. Go Girl!

Summer Time Fun!

We've enjoyed a fun Summer. School is now back in session so unfortunately we have to get back to being tied down. I couldn't post all the pics, but here are a few of the activities of the Summer. This is the picture of us at the drive in. We went with our neighbors and we took our trailor bed. It was a little redneck, but it was great fun! :)

We also got a new cat this summer. After much debate, it was decided that her name was to be Pearl. She is a very good cat, and the kids are very much enjoying her.

Then the highlight of the Summer is always the family reunions. We had a great time at Mom and Dad's. We played volleyball, ate ice cream, had pie eating contest and enjoyed each others company. It was great.

The cousins all had fun husking corn together, to eat for dinner. They love helping in the Garden and they actually eat Grandma and Grandpa's veggies. I guess they taste better.

We also had a Jackson reunion, we got to spend time with the Jackson clan. We enjoyed swimming at Green Canyon and dinner at Chris and Debi's. I forgot our camera, so unfortunately I don't have any pics.

And then of Course, we celebrated the 4th of July a little early. Before heading up to the reunions we set off fireworks at our house with friends. This summer has been fun, but it went way to fast.

Happy Birthday Brock

Brock is the big 5! We had a Scooby Doo mystery party for him on Wednesday. Kyli planned the whole thing. She did a great job. Brock got breakfast in bed, then reminded us often throughout the day that it was his birthday. He took full advantage of it.

For his party, some of the neighbors came, and Tiff and her kids. Brock was dying to see Ben. It was so nice that they could make the trip. We all had a fun time and he's already asking how much longer till his next birthday. Thank goodness we have a year! I hate to see him grow up to fast. He's turning into such a little man. He is starting Kindergarten this fall, and can hardly wait. It's fun to see him grow, but a little sad too.

Planting Trees

It was a tedious process but hopefully it will be worth it. Our trees out front had died, so we just had some big stumps. We all helped pull out the stumps, tear out the grass and plant our new trees. Tom did the brunt of the work, but the boys helped carry the grass stumps, which are very heavy. We filled up the trailor, then emptied it into the garden for fertilizer next year. Kyli was cheering us on, and Konner enjoyed watching from the warmth of his stroller.

The final product was 1 Linden tree, 1 Maple tree and 1 weeping willow. We are hoping to enjoy their beauty for years to come.

Fathers Day

Fathers Day, a day for Dads! :) Tom woke up to Pancakes and eggs, served to him in bed. Kaden made him a crown to wear all day, he was King of the house. He received lots of homemade cards and gifts, hugs and kisses. All his meetings were canceled so we were able to have him all day. I made him this scrumptious Reeses Peanut Butter Cake, it was really really good. Thanks for sharing. We hope he had a great Fathers day. He deserves a lot more of those days! We love you Daddy! You are the best!

Here is our fire pit. It's nothing fancy, just a hole in the ground, but we love cooking on it. Here we were cooking tin foil dinners, with our neighbors the Andersons. It sure helps the kids eat their food when they cook it. They were all eager to try the dinners. The dinners turned out marvelous, and then we had marshmallows for dessert. YUMMY!

Summer time Fun

This Summer we've been busy enjoying the outdoors and spending time together. Fishing seems to be a favorite pass time. We spent hours waiting for a bite, but the kids didn't seem to mind. In these photos we are fishing with our neighbors, the Lukers, at Dierkes lake. The kids all got bites, and were able to pull in a few, but they were all to little. Finally, Brogan caught a fish we could keep. A Large Mouth Bass, poor little fish. He sacrificed his life so we could have great big smiles all around!

Konner 3 months

Konner is getting so big. He's 3 months now, I can hardly believe it. He's constantly being bombarded by hugs and kisses, and he loves every second of it. He's just started to giggle, it sounds like a little motor trying to start. He's the happiest kid.
